A collection of reflections and various content composed throughout a journey of growth – rooted in fundamental values of strength, courage & love. Values brilliantly exemplified by the great lions. The purpose of this collection is to facilitate action and ratiocination. This is an exercise of thought that will further my own growth and hopefully inspire others to also think for themselves and live for others.
The name “Grown Simba” is merely an idea that represents a narrative for reference. Breaking it down simply, the term “Grown” refers to the transition into “adulthood” and the term “Simba” refers to the responsibilities, challenges and blessings attributed to being an influential being. In reality, this narrative is complex and filled with excruciating adversity. Ultimately, many are diverted, discouraged, or denied from fulfilling such a narrative.
It is important to note that the “Grown Simba” narrative/journey is one with no actual end. A journey rooted in growth is a perpetual journey. A journey rooted in love is an endless battle against fear. Often times, fear of what is misunderstood or unknown. Fear that can only be combated by those strong, courageous and loving enough to do so. Fortunately for most, the battle here is not physical. Unfortunately for most, the battle is psychologically exhausting and will produce a great deal of suffering. For most people, this narrative isn’t the “ideal” path to happiness. However, those of you who do consider yourselves to have a “Heart of a Lion,” understand that along this journey you will have created moments of unparalleled joy and immersed yourself in experiences made of authentic love.
To all readers, it is my personal hope that what I share inspires/reinforces you to love yourself and foster community everywhere you go. Be a warrior of love. Nothing on Earth can compare to the experiences of authentic love that you create for yourself and with others. Whether it is in your words or your actions. Whether it is remembered or not.
